description: This data set contains Release Incident that have been reported to the AER by substance other then Fresh Water. A Release Incident is defined as any accidental spillage or gas leak into the environment. Releases are further defined as "reportable" or "non-reportable". Only those releases deemed as "reportable" are captured as a Release Incident. Non-reportable releases can be recorded, if so desired, under Operational Notifications. A release may be reported from any type of upstream installation such as a gas plant, oil battery, drilling operation, pipeline, wellhead, etc.. Depending on the severity of the release or other factors including operator performance, a spill in to or near water sources, or a sour gas spill, an inspection may be required.
licenseInfo: Purchasers of the AER data files are permitted to use the files to select and process data for internal or client use and to release copies of small portions of the files on computer media, that result from specialized retrievals, to their clients; copying of a complete file or a large portion of a file for resale is not permitted.
